The owner of this Sudbury home wanted to keep the Weeping Cherry in her front yard trimmed and neat. She had it planted a number of years ago, and let the tree grow to its content. However several branches were growing toward the walkway, and the it appeared to be lopsided when viewed from certain angles.
While this tree didn’t need pruning to correct a health problem, pruning for visual appeal is definitely acceptable–as long as its done correctly.
