A new homeowner in Medford wanted to transform one side of his yard into a space he could enjoy sunny days.  The side yard was long and narrow with bumpy grass.

After looking at the water dynamics of the yard, it was found that the home has had a history of flooding from the nearby river.   We decided that a raised patio would be the best option to minimize damage from flood water, should the water rise again.  Integrated in the new patio was a set of stairs, and part of a retaining wall.  The new concrete and brick stairs and wall replaced a dilapidated timber wall and steps.

All 850 square feet of the patio were dry laid, with poly sand in the joints.  The patio was angled in a number of directions so that water did not pool in one particular area.
